First round of performers have been released for the 2017 CUT Awards. Rochester aka Juice, Dusty Wallace, J.O Mairs and Staalin.

CUT 2017 Hip Hop Awards, Senior Creative Director Chris Jackson has just released the first round of performers for the awards show taking place in Toronto this May 6, 2017. “Rochester, Dusty Wallace, J.O Mairs and Staalin are all excellent representatives of Toronto’s Hip Hop community. These artists have been steadily climbing the ladder to success nationally”.

Veteran MC, Rochester aka Juice has toured the country numerous times in his career and has broken into mainstream music by having his songs played on commercial radio. His masterful flows and styles, can be heard on his latest EP Cowabunga (December 2016). The debut single “Boost” featuring Hooks, produced by Dzy (Dej Loaf, Little Simz) has already reached number six on Apple Music’s “Hot Up in the Six” charts right below Drake, Tory Lanez and Roy Woods. Second single of his EP called “Grateful” is currently climbing the charts. Rochester is sure to mesmerize his fans at the 2017 CUT Awards.

Dusty Wallace aka TrappheraJohn – FlowGod burst onto the scene with the hit track “YOEY’ which is now almost at 100,000 You Tube views and has garnered credit from fans in Atlanta. His newest album “Reality Cheque” features the single “Ketchup” is accompanied by an innovative music video shot in 360 virtual reality and is quickly catapulting Dusty Wallace to superstardom. With his new wave style, memorable voice and authentic flow CUT is proud to have him on this year’s awards bill.
J.O Maris producer and MC has been featured on Team Backpack and was just acknowledged by Hip Hop Canada for song of the day for the new single off of his EP called “Tis The Season”. The song inspired by Jimi Hendrix is an undeniable banger and he recently proved the “6ix” has his back, by packing the house for his EP release party this past December. CUT fans are in for a refreshing rock hard hip hop performance from J.O Mairs.

Staalin is CUT’s 2016 winner for “Best Rap Single of the Year” for his song “Grand Entrance”. What Staalin brings to the CUT awards stage is a social consciousness armored with hardcore beats and rhymes. He has a fresh new way of delivering his rhymes. He’s got a lot of big heads looking at him right now and CUT is proud to be a supporter of his career.
